2025 ATRTP Plan
CALAVERAS ATRTP
The Calaveras Council of Governments is in the process of developing an Active Transportation and Recreational Trails Plan. Initial recommendations have been developed based on community input and an existing conditions evaluation. We need your input on finalizing these recommendations! WHAT IS AN ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION AND RECREATIONAL TRAILS PLAN?
This Active Transportation and Recreational Trails Plan (ATRTP) will develop a vision for walking, biking, and hiking for transportation and recreation. This may include plans for new sidewalks, bike lanes, street crossings, and trail access improvements.
WHY DO WE NEED A PLAN?
The purpose of the ATRTP is to provide Calaveras County with a blueprint for improving and expanding walking, biking, and hiking access. Identifying and prioritizing safe active transportation and recreational trails access will support a healthy, active and accessible community.
Through an existing conditions evaluation and a collaborative process with local stakeholders and the community, a list of prioritized projects will be developed which will serve as a guide for future walking, biking, and recreational trail investments in Calaveras County.
NEXT STEPS
Public outreach will be conducted between May and August 2025. The intent of this outreach is to present initial recommendations to the community and to finalize what projects will be incorporated into the plan. Once projects are finalized, projects will be prioritized based on a variety of factors. The priority projects will be presented at a public workshop and will be available online.
